Source hierarchy
For Australian legal and policy claims, the preferred sources are legislation registers, courts and tribunals, regulators and government agencies. Official explanatory material is used where it makes the law easier to understand. Reliable industry or research evidence may support technical and market claims but is not presented as law.
Inline citations
A source link should appear at the proposition it supports, not only in a bibliography. Each substantive legal or policy page states jurisdiction, applicability, source date and whether the item is legislation, regulator guidance, a government plan, voluntary guidance, a standard, a proposal or recommended governance practice.

Last-reviewed dates record a substantive review, not an automated timestamp. Readers should check the live source because law and guidance can change after review.
