Employee Awareness for Safe AI Use

Employees should understand safe AI use, privacy risks, hallucinations, human review and when not to rely on AI.

Workplace data screen reviewed by a person, representing human review of AI output.
Everyday judgement

AI output can sound confident and still be wrong.

Use AI output as a draft or suggestion. Before relying on it, check the facts, sources, calculations, tone, bias, privacy implications and whether the task needs a person with authority to review it.

Use approved tools

Follow your workplace policy and ask if you are unsure whether a tool is approved.

Protect information

Do not enter personal, confidential, customer, client, legal, financial or sensitive work information unless safeguards are approved.

Check AI outputs

Review facts, logic, references, calculations, context and tone before using AI-generated content.

Watch for bias

Consider whether an output may unfairly affect a person or group.

Ask for review

Seek human review when AI influences a decision, customer communication, safety issue or employment matter.

Report concerns

Raise privacy, cyber security, harmful output, unexpected behaviour or unfairness concerns early.

Simple rule

If the output affects a person, decision, customer, safety issue or legal obligation, a human must review it.

AI should support professional judgement. It should not replace accountability for work that matters.
